The relaxation of the eye region has several causes. On the one hand, the eye muscles shorten due to a lack of movement. On the other hand, the scalp presses sideways and from above into the face and pushes the eye region together. A lack of movement also leads to the breakdown of fluids in the skin and the sagging and congealing of the collagenous tissue. A straight posture while sitting, standing and walking is generally beneficial.
